Google Executive Chairman lays rest to recent speculation
With the recent changes in Google with changes in Andy Rubin’s role, and with Sundar Pichai now looking after both Android along with Chrome, it was speculated that we may get to see a merger between Chrome and Android. Now, Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt has set the matter straight during a discussion with reporters in India.
Although he claims that there might be an overlap between the two, they will inherently remain as separate platforms. There might cases when functionality from one may be made available in the other, but overall, they will remain as two separate entities.
Lastly, he also took some time to vehemently dispel rumors of his supposed departure from Google that had been fueling up lately. He said that such rumors were completely false, and that “Google is my home”
