It’s been several month since BlackBerry (BB) unveiled its new operating system BB 10, and the company is still struggling to draw users to the new platform with its Z10 smartphone. However, the company seems determined on making the OS more attractive by bringing out new features, as developer’s preview of its upcoming BB 10.1 OS surfaces today.

Several reports have been floating before regarding the addition of new features in the upcoming BB OS, and now a developer’s preview authenticates several rumors by listing around 14 newly added features in the upcoming BB 10.1 OS. Some of the prominent additions include an HDR camera mode, PIN-to-PIN messaging within the BB Hub and an improved text selector. Other smaller tweaks include the ability to paste phone numbers into the dialer, disabling alerts for specific apps, using power button to unlock screen and the ability to check for updates more easily.

It’s worth mentioning that these reported additions made by developers are based on a pre-release version of BB 10.1 OS, there will most probably be many new features in public version of the OS. Are you excited about new features being added by BB?
