Last week, LG sent out invites for an upcoming event to be held in New York City on May 1, which made us speculate the possible launch of its phablet, Optimus G Pro. Today, LG has finally revealed the mystery by unveiling the debut of its own version of Galaxy Note 2 competitor, in a media invite.

Aside from including an image of the smartphone, the invite also promises a concert event featuring performance of a band “Atlas Genius”. Judging from the fact that LG’s rival smartphone manufacturers have already brought their flagship devices, like HTC One, Galaxy S4 etc. to the U.S. market, the timing couldn’t be more perfect for LG to bring its big guns to provide consumers with more choice before they get stuck on contract with other smartphones.

After being debuted back in February during MWC 2013, the handset had been made available first in Asia. The smartphone boasts a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display, 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, a 13-megapixel camera and smart Video eye recognition feature. To have a glance at all of these features, head over to our own hands-on review of the device. Are you excited on the debut Optimus G Pro?
