After having a peak at the preview version of Skype on BlackBerry 10 (BB10) platform yesterday, the most popular video chatting platform finally releases for Q10 users, in the form of an Android port. Even though the app hasn’t been made for BB from scratch, this free downloadable app from BlackBerry World includes all the main features like free Skype-to-Skype video calls and instant messaging, as well as calling to regular phones using Skype credit.
However, bear in mind that the app is being launched as a preview version of Skype, so it’s most likely for you to bump into some bugs. This certainly sounds odd as we’ve been hearing for the app to get released on BB for months and it’s enough time to iron out the kinks.
Even though the app has launched for Q10, it’s not such good news for BB users in general at the moment, as there aren’t many Q10 users and the phone is only available in select markets for now. As for the BB Z10 owners, Skype will make its way to the phone when it gets updated to BlackBerry 10.1 OS. Have you downloaded Skype on your Q10 yet?
