Consumer Reports, an influential U.S. magazine published monthly by Consumers Union since 1936, has deduced that Galaxy S4 stands tall among all other mobile devices out there and hence the Samsung’s flagship Galaxy device is their new “Top Rated” smartphone.

For several months, LG’s Optimus G had held the crown in Consumer Reports rankings but with Galaxy S4 receiving top scores for various categories including usability, voice calls and messaging has deemed S4’s performance to be “Top Notch”, which is enough to dethrone Optimus G from the top spot.

The main features which fulfilled those categories were Galaxy S4’s impressive 5-inch, high-definition (1080p) touch-screen display; which was praised for being “sensitive enough to use with gloves on – handy during cold weather.”, innovative gesture controls, sensor-based tools for sharing content, infrared remote, and most importantly the S4′ split-screen multitasking, which earned the monster phone a “true multi-tasker” moniker.

The phone got picked up as the best handset with three major mobile carriers in the U.S. including AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Galaxy S4 has recently started to ship on Verizon so it’s understandable why it didn’t pick the top spot there.

With Galaxy S4 poised to become the fastest selling smartphone by hitting the 10 million mark, it’s quite a no brainer that people around the world love Samsung’s latest innovative features packed in its latest flagship smartphone.
