Despite hearing discouraging news regarding the struggling manufacturer’s present condition, the Taiwanese mobile company had reportedly managed for its HTC One to reach the milestone of 5 million sales. Now it seems like HTC wants to use its “One” brand name to introduce other device in the category to keep up with the rate at which sales of HTC are happening.

After its success in HTC One, there are reports that HTC is now coming up with another variant of HTC which touts a jumbo-sized display size of 5-6 inches. The current HTC One features a 4.7-inch screen. This strategy by HTC seems to resemble quite a lot with Samsung’s introduction of Galaxy Mega category.

Apart from the bigger screen size, there are no more details on the specs but we guess the bigger model, if real, should run on the same chipset as the HTC One flagship.  If this unusual rumor turns out to be true, it would pit the HTC One toe to toe with the likes of smartphones like Sony’s Xperia Z, Samsung’s Galaxy S4 etc., both of which feature 5” displays at the moment.

However, bear in mind that this info is strictly unofficial so take this information with a grain of salt for now. Are you getting excited to see the over-sized HTC One smartphone?
